For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

New American Standard Version

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.  He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Car Dieu a tant aim� le monde qu'il a donn� son Fils unique, afin que quiconque croit en lui ne p�risse point, mais qu'il ait la vie �ternelle.  Dieu, en effet, n'a pas envoy� son Fils dans le monde pour qu'il juge le monde, mais pour que le monde soit sauv� par lui.  Celui qui croit en lui n'est point jug�; mais celui qui ne croit pas est d�j� jug�, parce qu'il n'a pas cru au nom du Fils unique de Dieu.
